Thanksgiving

Games
Games were something to do during the festival. The games that they played back then were a lot different. These days most games are video games. Back then they are always out side running and playing hoop and javelin and hard games like that. They would sing a lot of songs if they got a good hunting day they would sing about that. People would also dance around the fire light at night. They would play ball and racket, hoop and javelin, and pa-tol stick game. They would play games because one of their religion and they were fun. “Because everyone likes games”. They would also hunt as a game slash practice. Because you really need to work on those skills. Without practicing these skill they will probley die of starvation.

Food
What people ate on Thanksgiving was just about anything because it was a feast. They ate corn, turnips, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, turkey, deer, and a lot more. All the things here were all freshly picked foods and cooked however they eat it. They did this because of the surplus of all the crops that Squanto got to them. He showed them all the tips to make wonderful crops. Food was really important to people in thanksgiving. People don’t know why there was a thanksgiving; you just think that it is a day when you eat a lot of stuff. But it is because of Squanto.

Squanto
Squanto was born in 1585 and died in 1622. In his life span, there was a deadly disease that spreaded all the way to Wampanoag and it killed 50 out 110 people. When Squanto died he was on a ship doing a voyage and he bled to death from his nose. He showed the English a lot. With out Squanto they would have probley been dead. Squanto showed them how to grow crops, new seeds, right time to plant crops, and how to hoe the fields with dead fish and clam shells.

Pilgrims
The pilgrims couldn’t have lived without Squanto. He showed them how to plant crops and everything about them so they would grow. September 6, 1620 pilgrims set sail for the new world. It was a 60 day trip all they ate was cold food, their ship name was Mayflower. On the trip there biggest fear was being attacked by Native Americans. Winter was devastating; snow just was too bad it killed all of their crops which made people starve.

William Bradford
William Bradford was elected governor of Plymouth in the Massachusetts Bay Colony shortly after the Separatists landed. His life span was 1590-1657. He had a journal keeping 30 years of his like. William was a Plymouth settler. In 1622 William and Squanto sailed south from Plymouth to Cape Cod. William died February 20, 1624. He thought of a holiday “Thanksgiving” for thanking god for the wonderful crops this year.” When he died he made a wish and he said,” further my Will is that my son Josepth bee made in some sort equall to his brthern out of my estat.”

CAMPING TRIP

Our whole family on a camping trip up at Ellensburg. But when we were there we brought bb guns and wanted to go shoot a rattle snake. so we would always go hunting for them, we hunted but never saw one. There were lizards and we shot them. When we went asleep there, me and my brother slept out side and everone els slept inside in this little cabin. I woke up early one day and i heard a snake and i was really scared. So i ran out of the tent and just go away from the tent and just walked around. Later that day we went to the tom petty concert at the gordge. Then after that the next day we went to a bull riding place and we watched people get thrown off bulls and stuff.I liked the trip exept for the part when i heard the raddle snake when i was sleeping. But if i got another chance to go there i would.

the evil grasshoper

one day there was a lady bug that was cleaning here at home. while she was trying to do that she turned on the music but when she did she herd a cricket,cricket,cricket. she thought her stereo was broken so she went to allis the catipiller. allis dident have much to say about the stereo becasue it was fine. then the lady bug had enough so she went to pecky the turkey. all she said was it is thanksgiving pretty soon and she needs to find a way to get somewere els. the lady bug was so tired of the noise she just went to bed. when she got in there was some light was shinning on this picture that she doesent remember so she walks up to it ans it goes, cricket . then she said, "got ya". and pushed out the cricket head from the window and said dont make me get patty the gecko.

ClayMation

My Claymation is about Henry Hudson. This project was an all around pretty fun project, we got to play with clay, use cameras, and use the computers. We also have to be creative when we make these things. This was my first time doing Claymation so if I think if I had another chance to do this I would improve my grade. I would have new I ideas to try out to. So now I am going to tell you a little about how I did this project. And if you read this it might help you on you project if you do something like this.
The first thing we did during this project was making out ten subtopics about Henry and then have five facts under each on of them. That was probley the hardest paper of them all. We also had to do the story board which we had to sketch what they do and what there going to say in the skit. During those assignments this project it was really boring I thought we would never get to the clay. The day finally came we finally got the clay.
The first day working on the clay we made Henry Hudson. We were taking a lot of time making the guy because we wanted everything perfect. We found out we don’t have enough time for that so we sort of had to hurry up. So after that we had to make one guy each everyday and just hurry up on them because they were c taking to long. We always needed an extra day, “every day”. In the class time was like money you always needed it. Through the clay making we finally got good at making people and it came really easy and we were taking pictures for our film pretty fast.
The computer work was probley the most challenging part with the audio and all the special effects. I started to get a hang in how to use the computer when were almost done with the project. This part was the second hardest thing we had to do because I don’t have the Imacs at home and don’t really know the programs. Some of the computer work was fun when we did voice I remember a lot of laughing. So if I were doing this project again I think I would get to know the computers better. And trust me it is hard using a computer that you are not using at home because it is very hard.
Through out this project I think there were hard parts, and easy parts, and funny ones. That really helped because a pure hard project with no fun is difficult because I get board of the project and just give up on it. It helped out is how my teacher wanted parts of the project due and not one due date. That is just too much when there is a huge project due. But I am in 8th grade and I think I will have to handle a big project and maybe not how I want it but I have to do it. I know that will come. Try some of the tips that I gave you like working with the new program that you haven’t used before so you know how to get it done and you don’t have to make everything perfect because you will run out of time.

BASEBALL

my last baseball team, the braves couched by donald. he was a very good couch. he was funny and you know when to be serious. i played catcher and 3rd base and a little bit of pitcher. we wer a really good team so we went to the eric tesarik tunament witch was in honor of a kid who played baseball that died of cancer. through that turnament we dident loose any games but there was game that i remember the most becasue its when this huge kid came up to bat hit the ball right at me really fast right at third base and it hit me in the sholder and it rolled in my hand so that is catching somebody out. then the kid up to bat i cought his ball then the next i got all 3 outs in 1 enning. then i went to all-stars then donald and cevan carron couched that they were both good couches. in al-stars we dident make it that far we made it about 5 games. but through all i was proud what i have done this year. i went through regular season, eric teserk turnament, and all stars. it was a fin year. and i will always remember that year

christmas vacation

CHRISTMAS VACATION



christmas, the funniest holiday of the year. This year we went to big mountain in montana. All we did was 100% snow boarding it was a blast. At night we either went snow tubing or night snow boarding. On Christmas night there would be people that would go off huge jumps and do the coolest tricks. Santa would ski down the mountain. There were huge ice sickles in some of the buildings. The next night we went to this bar and kids are allowed to go in it and people were dancing and some people put this blue sparkly glitter on you that glow on the black lights. On the way back to the cabin there was a nasty storm and when i got to the condo i tried to un lock the door but it was frozen locked. i told my dad that the key was broken but he came down and we finally opened it bye going to the back door.
The last day we were there was the worst day because we had to leave it was so much fun nobody wanted to leave but we had to get home for school we couldn't stayed forever. on the way home we stoped at a lot of places because they were really cool to look at like the jackolpoes. it was so fun we decided to go next year.

WILD WAVES

WILD WAVES



There I stood in front of the biggest ride at Wild Waves, the first ride of the day, the Timber Hawk. Its big, it’s wooden, and it looks like its going to fall apart. Then suddenly when I got on it, it started to go and I was freaked out because I have never been on it before. The sound of it going up the first ramp was like a weird clicking noise. Then the first drop, it sound liked people were getting shot at because everybody was screaming, we all went whoosh the cart came down there went left and right, it felt good to have enough courage to have to go on that ride. When the ride was over I said “I got to do that again” but I didn’t because the line was to long so we all said, “off to the water slides”.
Now that I went on the ride I was really proud that I did it. And this is advice if you go to wild waves; you have to take a friend there so they will encourage you to go on the ride that looks like its going to fall apart. So now that I learned that rides at Wild Waves won’t fall apart.

This is a film that my teacher had us watch and here is a summery about the movie rear window

L.B Jefferies lives on 125 west 9th street Manhatton, New York. He is a photographer that travels the world for a magazine. Jefferies is stuck in his apartment for 6 weeks with a broken leg. It’s summer 90 degrees, horribly hot.
Mr. Jefferies is struggling because he has a girlfriend that wants to get married but he doesn’t. He has neighbors that are odd. There is a dancer, a middle aged women that drinks and pops pills, and a musical person The couple that owns a dog have a cool trick to get it downstairs to go to the bathroom, is there is a rope with a basket on it and they put the dog in it and crank it down.
Mr. Jefferies thinks that Thorwald has murdered his wife because she has been missing and he has been taking her jewelry. Thornwold instantly sees the dog digging in their garden so he killed the dog that night. Mr. Jefferies put a far away Lens on his camera so he can spy on him. At the kitchen sink he saw him cleaning then wrapping up a saw blade and a butcher knife. Tom, a plaineclothes cop doesn’t believe Jefferies about the murder.
When Stella went over to Thornwalds house to check it out he came home and caught her so the police came. They put Stella in cuffs and took her away because she broken in someone’s house. Stella yelled to Mr. Jefferies to help, but Thornwald saw and heard that and walked over to Mr. Jefferies house. Mr. Jefferies tried to flash his camera to blind him but that didn’t work so Thordwald threw him out the window. He ended up with two broken legs.
Mr. Jefferies knew what he saw and know body believed him. The lady didn’t or even the officer. So I think If I was a cop for anything like that I would check it out before I just say I don’t believe it or else and can end up as bad as this. Then I would be sorry.
